Project Platypus Landcare Facilitator, Elia, was successful in an application to present at the National Landcare Conference which took place in the end of September.
The conference saw over 600 Landcarers from across the country come together in the Gold Coast. Elia's presentation was part of the 'Landcare and Technology' session, which was full of inspiring examples of Landcare networks getting creative with new technologies, like drones and automated pest trap monitors. Her presentation, on how technology and citizen science is enabling the Grampians/Gariwerd to Pyrenees Biolink project, was received with great interest and enthusiasm.
This conference was a fantastic opportunity to meet representatives of other Landcares who are also adopting biolinks approaches to their local conservation efforts. Contact details were exchanged and plans made to swap ideas in the new year!
