We are looking for someone to promote project activities through social media, newsletters, media releases and run events that engage the local Landcare community. The position will use our current communications strategies and platforms to continue to build connections with local community members and Landcare groups. The projects are community based conservation and Landcare projects that require an understanding of the importance of the environment, habitat, flora and fauna.
The preferred candidate will possess skills in both Communications and Events, while we also encourage applications for either role. The role is part-time and currently funded until November, with potential for extension if additional funding is secured. We have a flexible workplace with scope to do some of the role remotely. The successful applicant will need to be available to organise and run events in the Stawell and Grampians area on weekdays, weekends and evenings.

LOCATION: Stawell
EFFECTIVE DATE: MARCH 2026
COMPLETION DATE: November 2026 (Extension subject to funding)
TERM: Part-time 2 days per week (0.4 FTE)
SALARY:$35-40/hr plus superannuation
KEY TASKS
1. Write newsletters, social media and media releases to promote events and information to the community
2. Organise and deliver engaging and inclusive community events
3. Keep records of event delivery and contribute to reporting activities

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Have excellent communication skills to engage with community members, Landcare groups and community organisations.
- Be proficient with computers, social media platforms, software such as Mailchimp, Canva and/or Adobe.
- Ability to learn project content and turn into communications material.
- Demonstrated ability to organise safe and inclusive community events.
- A strong interest or knowledge of environmental sustainability, habitat restoration, and wildlife conservation.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Current Driver’s License.
Have current first aid training or willing to be trained
Working with children check
Be available for events during weekdays, weekends or evenings
