Recent surveys have identified 16 new locations in the Northern Grampians where squirrel gliders live. These locations will be key areas for our future protection efforts including installing nest boxes and planting understory species. Local Landholders are encouraged to come along and have input into guiding these activities.
We will be celebrating our local Squirrel Gliders with a Community Day at Dadswells Bridge on Sunday the 29th of March. The day will start with presentations from Project Platypus staff on establishing Biolinks to help protect Squirrel Gliders and the latest results from our night surveys.
Everyone will get the chance to meet some real life squirrel gliders who will no doubt be the stars of the show. They are easily one of the cutest animals that we have living in the Northern Grampians. There will also be sugar gliders and other native animals to meet, including lizards and snakes, making this a great day out for the whole family.
Food will be provided and the day is free to attend.
