30 July 2026
What a day it was! A huge thank you to everyone who joined us in Landsborough West last Sunday for our 2026 Annual Community Plant Out, and what a fitting weekend to do it, with National Tree Day falling on the very same day.
Working alongside Concongella Landcare Group, our incredible volunteers got hundreds of native seedlings into the ground along a creek line, building habitat corridors and helping protect this waterway from future erosion. Every tree planted is a step toward a healthier, more connected landscape for local wildlife across Gariwerd.
This year's plant out carried extra meaning too. We're celebrating 40 years of Landcare in Victoria, four decades of communities rolling up their sleeves for conservation and habitat rehabilitation. Sunday was a beautiful reminder that the next 40 years start with days just like this one.
From little hands learning to plant their first seedling, to paddocks transformed row by row, to the whole crew warming up with a cuppa and a well-earned BBQ lunch afterwards, this is what community-led conservation looks like.
Thank you to everyone who has ever grabbed a spade, a bucket, or a tree guard and joined us over the years. Here's to many more Tree Days to come!
Proudly held in partnership with the Concongella Landcare Group, marking 40 years of Landcare in Victoria.
