Project Platypus is a licensed commercial operator with a long history in invasive plant and animal control in the upper Wimmera/upper Glenelg catchments. Working extensively across this Grampians to Pyrenees area for over 20 years gives us a sound understanding of pest species and various methods of treatment to achieve excellent results.

Work undertaken by Project Platypus for pest animals includes:

Rabbit fumigation and warren ripping

Contract shooting to humanely destroy pest animals

Works for Landcare group members, regional natural resource management authorities, other organisations and individuals

RABBITS

In Australia, rabbits are widely distributed and occur in a variety of habitats, including urban and rural areas. Project Platypus offers services in rabbit eradication with programs to suit individual properties or groups.

FERAL CATS

Predation by feral cats is listed as a key threatening process under section 188 of Australia’s national environment law, the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).

FOXES

Foxes (Vulpes vulpes) are opportunistic predators and scavengers and have few natural predators in Australia.
