Seeking expressions of interest for regevetation in 2025

4 March 2024

Are you considering a revegetation project on your property? Some great examples include planting native, endemic tree and shrubs species in shelterbelts, understory plantings in cleared woodlands, erosion gullies or any cleared land. These plantings can provide significant long term habitat for our local fauna and flora and improve soil and air quality. Project Platypus are available to provide a free site assessment and project plan and help identify potential funding options.

Project Platypus have been completing revegetation projects in the Upper Wimmera Catchment for 30 years, to enhance habitat for flora and fauna. Projects are modified to suit the location and suitable tree and shrub species selected. The community is involved wherever possible, either through Landcare, schools or community volunteers. The 2024 planting season saw 14,000 seedlings planted by 180 community volunteers and school kids.

Sites need to be greater than 2ha in size and contribute to the long-term enhancement of habitat for native flora and fauna in the area. Please see our EOI page for information on what we provide and to formally express interest.

Once we have recieved the expression of interest the Revegetaiton Officer will review to determine if it aligns with our strategic goals and follow up with the Landholder.
